Challenger CL10AV3-DPC Versymmetric 2-Post Adjustable Lift The suffix on this model number is the buying decision. DPC is Dual Pendant Controls, and our record for the CL10AV3-DPC lists its lift configuration in exactly those words: a control station on each column rather than one on a single side of the bay. Underneath that control layout sits the standard CL10AV3 platform - a 10,000 lbs. capacity two-post lift with Versymmetric offset front arms, three width settings and a 2 HP power unit. Everything below is the published specification for this exact configuration. Where two published figures differ, this page gives both, attributed, and asks you to confirm the one that matters with us before you order. What a second control station actually changes On a single-control lift the operator has one place to stand, and it is not always the place with a clear view of the arms. Pads get seated by feel and by shouting across the bay. With a pendant on each column the technician can work from the side the vehicle is loaded from, watch the near pads bite as the arms take weight, drop back down an inch and reseat without walking around the vehicle. That matters most in the first few inches of travel, which is where a badly seated pad becomes a slipped vehicle. It also changes how two people share a bay: each has controls in front of them rather than one operating and one watching. The padded overhead shut-off is standard either way, and stops the lift before a roof finds the crossbeam. The lock release is a pulley-less jacketed single-point system - one pull frees both columns, with no release pulley to seize. Base plates are fully gusseted, arm restraints and pins are plated against rust, the finish is powder coat, and dual integrated rubber door guards are standard. Versymmetric arms and spotting a vehicle on the first try Versymmetric is Challenger's offset front arm geometry, and its practical effect is that one lift covers both symmetric and asymmetric work in the same bay. A wide-door sedan wants the vehicle set back so the doors clear the columns; a long pickup wants it centred on the columns for balance. A lift locked to one arrangement makes you compromise on one of them every time. Arms are 3-stage front and rear, reaching 20 in. to 42 in. at the front and 37.625 in. to 60 in. at the rear - the span that lets one lift take a small hatchback and a crew cab without an adapter drawer. The directSPOT front arm design targets the most wasted minute in a service bay: driving in, finding the front arm will not reach the pinch weld, backing out and starting again. Premium double telescoping screw pads adjust through 3.875 in. to 6.125 in., so most vehicles are reached by turning a pad rather than stacking blocks. The parts that wear, and how this one is built Equalisation hardware is where a two-post lift ages. This one runs an oversized 5 in. diameter pulley with heavy duty 5/16 in. cable, and the reason to care is bend radius: a cable turning around a larger pulley works less hard every cycle, so the equalisation system stays in adjustment longer. The 48 in. elongated carriage spreads the load over a longer section of column, which reduces the rocking that eventually wears slides oval. Will It Fit? The standard model is built for a 12 ft. ceiling, and 2 ft. or 3 ft. column extensions are available if you have the room and want more. Floor to overhead switch measures 10 ft. 8.5 in. to 11 ft. 2.5 in. depending on how the lift is set up. Width is adjustable in three settings, from 11 ft. 6.5 in. through to 12 ft. 6.5 in. Inside the columns you get 110 in., 116 in. or 122 in. accordingly, with drive-thru clearance between the carriages of 100 in., 106 in. or 112 in. Rise height is 74.125 in. at the top of the pad, with 70 in. of maximum rise measured under the arms. We do not hold Challenger's concrete thickness and strength specification in our own product data, so we will not quote you one. Ask us for the installation manual before you drill anything. Verifying the slab, the anchor spec, the ceiling clearance and the electrical supply is the buyer's responsibility, and it is far cheaper to do it with a tape measure than with a lift on the floor. One measurement worth a phone call The overall height of this lift is published two ways, and a lift is exactly the wrong product to guess about. Challenger specification block Overall height 11 ft. 2 in. or 11 ft. 8 in. depending on column setting, and 11 ft. 11 in. with the cylinder extended. The catalogue listing for this model Overall height 143 in., 145 in. or 146 in. The two do not describe the same configuration. If your ceiling is anywhere near tight, or you are fitting under a beam, a door track or a heater, confirm the overall height with us in writing before you order - we will get it straight from Challenger. Power supply The power unit on this configuration is 2 HP, 208v-230v, 60 Hz, 1 Ph, and Challenger lists its speed of rise at 38 seconds. Worth knowing if you are comparing pages: the marketing copy that ran here previously quoted a 27 second rise and a 17 second descent. Those figures describe Challenger's QuickCycle power unit, which is a different configuration in this same family - not this one. Have an electrician confirm the circuit against the motor plate before delivery day. Perfect For General repair shops running mixed work where the next vehicle through the door is not predictable. Two-technician bays, where a control station on each column changes how the work is shared. Tyre, brake and suspension work that needs the wheels free and the vehicle spotted right the first time. Fleet and municipal shops servicing a mix of cars, vans and light trucks on one lift. What's in the Box Two columns with fully gusseted base plates and a 48 in. elongated carriage each 3-stage front and rear arms with plated arm restraints and arm pins Premium double telescoping screw pads Pulley-less jacketed single-point lock release system Padded overhead shut-off Standard dual integrated rubber door guards Available in red, blue or black. Challenger publishes a range of accessories for this lift; anything not listed above is a separate order, so tell us what you intend to service and we will tell you what you actually need. Certification, stated plainly Our record for the CL10AV3-DPC shows ALI and ETL certification marked yes. That is the meaningful kind - a third-party listing rather than a manufacturer's own declaration - and it is what an insurer, a franchise agreement or a municipal supply contract will usually be asking about. If a listing is a condition of your cover or your contract, get the requirement in writing and speak to us before you order so we can match the certificate to the exact configuration you are buying. Shipping and Delivery This lift travels as freight within the lower 48 states. You will need a forklift or a loading dock at your end, or you can take terminal pickup instead; warehouse collection is also offered. Residential delivery is available and carries a fee. This item ships free, so there is nothing to add at checkout. Inspect before you sign. Count the columns, arms and hardware cartons, look for crushed corners and disturbed banding, and write anything you find on the bill of lading while the driver is there. Warranty Warranty terms and the claim process are published on our warranty claims page. No coverage period is printed here: our record for this model holds a link and not a term, and a warranty length is not something to reconstruct from memory. Ask us and we will confirm it. If something fails, contact us before anything is taken apart. A dismantled column or a stripped power unit cannot be assessed, and that is the most common way a sound claim turns into an argument. Photograph the fault, note what the lift was doing at the time, and leave it as it stands.
