Challenger Lifts 4030SAX: the alignment deck in the 30,000 lb 4030 family The 4030 platform is sold in more than one shape, and the letters on the end of the model number are where the difference lives. On the 4030SAX the deck is the alignment version. It carries recessed turn plate pockets, so the front turn plates sit down flush with the runway surface and a truck drives straight on instead of climbing over them, and this configuration's specification sheet gives it a maximum two-wheel alignment length of 219.5". That is the practical reason to choose this model over the plain service deck in the same family: alignment work is something the lift is set up for as delivered, not something you build on top of it afterwards. Everything underneath is the heavy-duty 4030 — 30,000 lbs of capacity, a cable-driven lifting system running on heavy-duty steel sheaves and cables, and a single-point air-actuated lock release. This is equipment for medium and heavy-duty trucks, transit vehicles and fleet work, not a car lift scaled up. Reading the wheelbase numbers before you order Two different maximum-wheelbase figures sit around this product, and it is worth knowing which is which before you commit. The shared 4030 feature list quotes 244.5", 281" or 317", because the series is built in three runway lengths. The specification sheet for this configuration lists one value: 244.5". The feature list describes the series; the specification sheet describes this deck. Tell us the longest wheelbase you need to cover and we will confirm in writing which runway length is on your quote before anything is built. Will It Fit? A 30,000 lb four-post needs a bay, not a corner. The published minimum recommended bay size is 28' x 17', and the lift measures 308" overall length by 172.75" overall width, on columns 92.25" tall. Column spacing. 246.125" between columns, 152" inside them. Rise. 71.75" to the top of the runway. That is the number to check against your ceiling and your lighting, and it is also the working headroom you actually stand up in. Runways. 24" wide, 8.5" tall, adjustable from 46" to 52" between them to suit the tread widths you service. Air. A shop supply of 90 to 120 psi feeds the single-point lock release. If your compressor cannot hold that at the far end of the shop, sort the airline out before installation day. Power. A 3HP motor on 208-230V single-phase. Slab thickness and concrete strength are not stated in the data we hold for this model, and those are the two numbers nobody should guess at this weight class. Ask us for the current installation drawing and have your floor checked against it. Confirming that the slab, the ceiling and the electrical supply are right is the buyer's responsibility, and every part of it is cheaper to establish before the truck arrives than after. One release, four columns, all at once On a four-post lift the locks hold the vehicle and the cylinder only raises it. That makes lock behaviour, not lifting power, the thing worth understanding. The 4030's single-point air-actuated release disengages the column locks simultaneously, so a technician is not walking the bay releasing catches one at a time and hoping they came out even. Under a loaded truck a deck that comes off its locks unevenly is precisely the event this design exists to prevent, and on a lift rated to 30,000 lbs the consequences scale with the load. Behind it, the cable-driven equalisation system runs on heavy-duty steel sheaves. A larger sheave diameter means a gentler bend radius in the cable, and a gentler bend radius is what keeps a cable from work-hardening at the same point on every cycle. It is a quiet design decision that shows up as service life rather than as a headline. Set up for imaging alignment The 4030 alignment deck is stated as compatible with current camera imaging alignment systems, and the multiple locking positions along the columns are what make that usable: you set the deck at the height the targets and the technician want rather than at whatever height the locks happen to offer. Combined with adjustable lock ladders, which allow the install to be trimmed to a floor that is not perfectly level, the result is a deck you can actually get level and keep level. The approach ramps are diamond plate for traction on the way up, and the runway rail system is built in, so rolling jacks and an oil drain pan can be added later without modifying the lift. Perfect For Truck and fleet shops putting medium and heavy-duty vehicles through routine service and needing alignment capability in the same bay. Municipal and transit garages where the vehicle mix is fixed, heavy, and in the shop on a schedule. Dealership heavy-duty departments that already run imaging alignment equipment and want a deck to match it. Alignment specialists expanding beyond passenger cars, where the turn plate pockets and the 219.5" two-wheel alignment length are the whole point. What ships with it The lift itself: columns, runways with the built-in rail system, the cable and sheave assembly, the power unit, the single-point air lock release and diamond-plate approach ramps. The recessed turn plate pockets are part of the alignment deck. Rolling jacks and the oil drain pan are sold separately — the rail system is there so they can be fitted, but they are not in this listing. Turn plates themselves are not listed as included either; the pockets that hold them are. If you intend to do alignments from the first week, ask us to quote the plates and the jacks alongside the lift so nothing arrives half-equipped. That matters to a specific set of buyers rather than to everyone: insurers, fleet safety policies and some local jurisdictions ask for a third-party lift safety listing by name, and a lift that carries one answers that question without a discussion. What we would still say is that the requirement you have to satisfy is yours, not ours. If a listing is a condition of your insurance or your inspection regime, tell us which listing and which configuration you need it on and we will confirm it against current documentation before you order rather than after. Shipping and delivery This lift ships as freight to the lower 48 states. This item ships free, so there is nothing to add at checkout. Plan the unload before the truck is booked. A freight carrier brings the shipment to the kerb and getting it off the trailer is the receiver's job, so you need a forklift or telehandler with the reach and rating for a crate this size on site — or you can collect from the carrier's terminal, which is often the simpler answer for a shop without its own material handling. A delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when that delivery type is selected. Inspect before you sign. Walk the crates with the driver, count the pieces against the packing list and write any damage on the bill of lading before the truck leaves — a bent tube, a torn wrap, a crushed corner, a shifted pallet. A clean signature closes the carrier's liability, and a claim raised the following morning is a much harder conversation than a note made at the kerb. Warranty Challenger is a long-established name in vehicle lifts and its warranty is handled through the manufacturer. The specification data we hold for this model records a warranty reference rather than a term, so we have not restated a duration here that we cannot verify — ask us and we will confirm the current terms for your exact configuration, or see our warranty claims page. One piece of practical advice that applies whatever the term turns out to be: do not take a component apart before you make the claim. A disassembled power unit or cylinder is very hard for anyone to assess, and stripping it is the quickest way to turn a covered failure into a disputed one. Photograph it, leave it as it is, and call us.
