CEMB EZ10 Space-Saving 3D Data Entry Wheel Balancer Most balancers answer a fixed question: is the residual imbalance below a preset number? The EZ10 asks a better one. Its AutoAdaptive software calculates, for the individual wheel on the shaft, the residual value below which the driver will not perceive vibration through the steering wheel — and finishes there. That is a different definition of "balanced", and it is the reason this compact machine behaves like a considerably larger one. Why One Fixed Tolerance Cannot Judge Every Wheel A heavy truck wheel and a light alloy wheel do not need the same residual figure to feel identical in a driver's hands. Mass, diameter and width all change how a given residual imbalance is transmitted into the steering column. Judge both against one threshold and you get the two failure modes shops know well: light wheels signed off while the customer can still feel something, and heavy wheels spun over and over chasing a number that was never going to change the ride. AutoAdaptive reads the weight and dimensions the machine has just measured and derives the tolerance from them. The wheel is finished when it is genuinely finished for that wheel. Two things fall out of that in a working bay: fewer comebacks on the light end of the range, and less time burned on the heavy end. The OPB program compounds the saving by cancelling the static and dynamic components with a single correction whenever the geometry allows it. 3D Data Entry Without the Caliper Dimensional entry is handled by the 3D inner data entry arm, and Virtual Sonar completes the picture. Virtual Sonar is CEMB software that establishes rim width in the absence of a physical sonar device: once the automatic gauge has fixed the first correction plane, it computes the position of the outer plane from the measured unbalance together with the tolerance AutoAdaptive has already calculated. What this saves you is a caliper reading. Rim width taken by hand is quietly one of the least reliable numbers in a tire bay — a grubby rim, an awkward angle, a technician between jobs — and a width that is a half inch out puts the outer weight in the wrong place no matter how good the electronics are. Direct measures input then removes the second manual step, the balancing-mode selection, so the wheel is treated according to what was measured rather than what was declared. Built for Batch Work, Not Just Light Duty A compact machine is often a lighter-built machine. CEMB's position on this range is the opposite: the whole line is manufactured to the same standard, and heavy-duty batch balancing does not trouble even the smallest balancer in it. Model choice across the range is about the level of process automation and analysis you want, not about how hard you intend to work the machine — which is a genuinely useful thing for a buyer to know, because it means specifying down to this size is not the same as specifying down in durability. Guided weight placement covers ALU and hidden-spoke corrections, so alloy wheels that hide the outer plane behind a spoke are handled rather than approximated. An electro-magnetic brake holds the wheel exactly where the correction goes instead of letting it creep, and a quick-clamp wing nut takes care of manual clamping. Average cycle time is 5 seconds, and the machine arrives fully assembled and plug-and-play. Will It Fit, and What Does It Need? Power is 110 VAC, 1 ph, 50/60 Hz. Single-phase, no compressed air, nothing installed by an electrician if the outlet is already there — which is what makes this a realistic machine for a two-bay garage. Balancing speed is 100 rpm. Capacity is 36″ maximum tire diameter, 30″ maximum rim diameter, 20″ maximum rim width and 165 lbs (75 kg) maximum wheel weight, covering steel and custom wheels with clip-on, tape-weight and hidden-spoke corrections up to that 30″ rim. Shipping weight is 280 lbs. The small footprint is the design brief, but leave room in front of the shaft for an operator to lift a wheel on and off without twisting, and check the guard has clearance to swing up under a low shelf or a mezzanine. Measuring the space, the outlet and the route the crate takes into the building is the buyer's responsibility, and it takes five minutes. Perfect For Small garages and independent repair shops that want 3D data entry and adaptive tolerance in a machine that fits where there is space, not where there is a bay. Tire shops needing a second balancer to run behind a larger machine at peak without buying a second large machine. Mobile and satellite operations working from a single-phase supply. Anyone doing mixed steel and alloy work within the capacities above, particularly hidden-spoke fitments. What's in the Box The machine ships with the 3D inner data entry arm, AutoAdaptive enhancement with static residual force minimization, direct measures input, guided weight placement including ALU and hidden-spoke modes, the electro-magnetic brake and the quick-clamp wing nut. It is made in Italy, fully tested and assembled in the USA, and supplied fully assembled and plug-and-play. Note that this model is specified without a video touch monitor — that is the touchscreen variant, and it is a separate listing. Cones, adaptors and lifting accessories are not itemised in the material we hold, so ask us and we will confirm exactly what is in the crate before you order. What it does not state is an independent, third-party safety or conformity assessment — and we are not going to let a country of origin or a domestic test step stand in for one, because neither involves an outside body examining the equipment. Some buyers genuinely need that evidence: an insurer, a purchasing office or a local inspector may ask for it in writing. Send us the requirement as they worded it before you order, and we will get a documented answer from the manufacturer. Shipping and Delivery Freight to the lower 48 states, free of charge. The crate weighs 280 lbs. Both residential and commercial addresses are served — residential delivery carries a residential fee, added at checkout when you select it — and you should settle the unloading question first. The driver is not obliged to get the crate to the ground; a forklift, a dock or a terminal collection all solve it, and improvising on the day rarely goes well. Inspect before signing, whichever way it arrives. Walk around the crate, photograph anything crushed, torn or shifted, and write the damage on the bill of lading in plain language. Signing clean is a statement that the shipment was undamaged, and reversing that later is difficult. Call, text or chat with us the moment something looks wrong and we will open the claim with you. Warranty The manufacturer's warranty applies. Its term and covered parts are deliberately not printed here: the document supplied with the balancer is the text a claim is settled against, and a paraphrase on a web page quietly goes out of date. Ask us and we will send the current one before you order. And the standing warning that applies to every machine we sell: do not dismantle a suspect assembly before the claim is open. Once a part has been taken apart, the cause of the failure can no longer be established by inspection, and manufacturers decline claims on that basis routinely. Photograph it, write down what the machine was doing at the time, and call us first.
