The Brightwell Xport NO3 Brick is an ultra-activated denitrification media offering exceptional performance for freshwater, pond, and marine applications. This innovative product is designed to provide a vast anaerobic surface area, facilitating efficient bacterial colonisation. With an impressive 71,000 square feet of surface area per litre, and each brick providing approximately 100,000 square feet for bacterial growth, it supports effective denitrification and reduces phosphate levels and dissolved organics. Infused with Aragonite, the brick buffers the pH at the bacterial level, preventing acid build-up and maintaining bacterial viability. Its high porosity ensures the media remains wet for extended periods, even after drainage, supporting bacteria survival during equipment failure. Key Features: Highest porosity and largest usable surface area of any filtration media. Over 71,000 square feet of surface area per litre for optimal bacterial colonisation. Sulphur doping accelerates denitrification by acting as an electron donor. Significantly reduces phosphate and dissolved organics. Aragonite doping buffers pH to prevent acid build-up. This product is particularly beneficial for systems with heavy biological loads, providing a reliable solution for maintaining water quality and supporting aquatic life. For maximised efficiency, it is recommended to seed the brick with bacterium products like FlorinBacter or MicrōBacter7, and to use it in conjunction with a carbon source such as Brightwell Katalyst bio pellets. Specifications: Dimensions: 9" x 4.5" x 2.5" Capacity: Suitable for up to 1,000 US gallons (3,800 litres) Material: Ultra-porous brick with Aragonite doping
