NitraCore is a specialised biological filter media designed to support natural nitrate reduction in freshwater and marine aquariums. Manufactured from a highly porous natural material, NitraCore creates the ideal environment for anaerobic denitrifying bacteria, helping to reduce nitrate levels and maintain a healthier aquatic ecosystem.Unlike traditional biological media that focus on aerobic nitrification, NitraCore is dedicated entirely to the denitrification process. As water slowly passes through its intricate pore structure, oxygen levels decrease, creating the conditions required for beneficial bacteria to convert nitrates into harmless nitrogen gas. This natural process helps control nitrate accumulation and supports long-term water quality.Key Features Promotes natural biological nitrate reduction Highly porous structure encourages dense bacterial colonisation Creates anaerobic zones for effective denitrification Helps maintain lower nitrate levels in aquariums Suitable for freshwater and marine systems Complements biological media designed for nitrification Long-lasting and easy to use Supports improved water quality and aquarium stability Available Sizes 225g (500ml) 400g Why Choose NitraCore?Excess nitrate can contribute to algae growth, stress aquatic life and make maintaining water quality more challenging. NitraCore helps address this issue by supporting the final stage of the nitrogen cycle, allowing beneficial denitrifying bacteria to naturally remove nitrates from the aquarium. For best results, NitraCore should be used alongside dedicated nitrification media, such as Blue Shark OxyCore, which handles the aerobic conversion of ammonia and nitrite. Together, they provide a more complete biological filtration system.Directions for Use Rinse thoroughly before use. Place in a canister filter, box filter or other area with steady water flow. Maintain a flow rate below 200 litres (50 gallons) per hour for optimal denitrification. Allow several days for bacterial colonies to establish. Nitrate levels will typically begin to decrease and stabilise around 4–5 ppm under suitable conditions. Dosage Guide Each 225g (500ml) treats approximately 100–200 litres (25–50 gallons) of aquarium water. Adjust quantity according to aquarium size and nitrate levels. NitraCore provides a natural and effective solution for aquarists looking to reduce nitrate levels without relying on chemical treatments. Its specialised design supports long-term biological filtration, helping create a cleaner, healthier environment for fish, corals and aquatic plants.
