Atlas Blackjack Motorcycle Jack The number that matters on this jack is not the 1,000 LB. capacity — it is the 3 1/2" fully lowered height. A motorcycle jack only earns its place if it slides under the machine you already own, and a bike on its side stand, an ATV with a low skid plate or a zero-turn mower deck do not leave much room to work with. At 3 1/2" collapsed, the Blackjack goes under; from there it lifts to 14 3/8" on the standard adapters, or 16 1/4" once the ATV adapters are fitted. Both adapter sets are included. That is the second thing worth knowing, because it is what lets one jack cover a narrow motorcycle frame and a wide ATV without a second purchase. Two widths, one jack The Blackjack measures 5 1/2" across with the adapter plate off, and 11" with it on. Those two figures are the whole design in miniature. Plate off, it is narrow enough to come up between frame rails or under an engine case where a wide saddle simply will not go. Plate on, it spreads the load across 11" so an ATV or a mower sits on it without the contact point trying to bury itself in something soft. Overall length is 16". That is short enough that the jack sits square on the deck of a motorcycle lift table rather than hanging off either end of it — which is how it is most often used, and why the current feature list says it fits all motorcycle lifts. Lift the bike on the table, then lift the wheel off the table with the Blackjack, and the wheel comes out with the machine still supported. Will It Fit? Clearance under the machine: 3 1/2" is what you need at the pick-up point with the jack fully lowered. Measure to the lowest hard part in the way, not to the tyre. Working length: 16" overall, so it fits within the deck of a standard motorcycle or ATV lift table. Contact width: 5 1/2" bare, 11" with the adapter plate — check which one your frame or skid plate actually wants. Weight of the machine: 1,000 LB. capacity. That covers touring bikes, ATVs, side-by-sides and most garden equipment, but it is the whole jack's rating and not a per-corner figure. Handling: the jack itself is 43 lbs, so one person can lift it into a truck bed or hang it on a wall bracket without help. Checking the clearance figure against your own machine is the buyer's job — it is a two-minute measurement and it is the only one that decides whether this jack works for you. Adjustable heights, and why the two adapter figures differ Lifting height with the regular adapters is 14 3/8". With the ATV adapters fitted the top of the lift moves to 16 1/4". The extra reach is not the ram doing more work; it is the taller adapter sitting on the same ram, which is exactly what an ATV needs — more ground clearance to start with, and a wider, flatter contact patch once it is up. Because the adapters are interchangeable and adjustable, one jack is set up for a sportbike in the morning and a quad in the afternoon. Wheel removal is the job it was built for The current feature list leads with wheel removal, and that is the honest description of what a jack like this is for. A motorcycle lift table raises the whole machine; it does not free a wheel, because the tyre is still resting on the deck. To get a wheel out you need a second, small lift acting on the frame or the swingarm while the machine is already up. That is the Blackjack's role, and it is why the low collapsed height and the short 16" length matter more than the capacity does — you are asking it to work in the gap between a lifted machine and the deck it is sitting on. It works just as well on the floor. Under an ATV in a home garage, or under a mower deck at the start of a blade change, the same 3 1/2" entry height is what gets it into position at all. Perfect For Home garages with a motorcycle or an ATV and no lift table — the jack alone is enough to get a wheel off. Anyone who already owns a motorcycle lift and has discovered that a raised bike is not the same as a free wheel. Powersports and small-engine shops doing repeat tyre, brake and suspension work where setup speed decides how many jobs fit in a day. Mixed fleets — bikes, quads, side-by-sides and mowers — where buying a dedicated jack per machine type is not sensible. What's in the Box The jack, plus the adapter sets: the current product data states that adapter sets are included, and quotes lifting heights for both the regular adapters and the ATV adapters, which is the evidence that both are supplied. We have not listed anything beyond that, because nothing beyond that is stated in the data we hold. Specifications Maximum weight capacity 1,000 LB. Fully lowered height 3 1/2" Lifting height, regular adapters 14 3/8" Lifting height, ATV adapters 16 1/4" Width without adapter plate 5 1/2" Width with adapter plate 11" Overall length 16" Shipping weight 43 lbs Approvals, stated plainly The data we hold on this jack records no independent laboratory listing or third-party safety approval, and we will not imply one. Lifting accessories of this size are commonly sold on the manufacturer's own rating, which is normal and is not a fault. It matters only if someone else — an insurer, an employer's equipment policy, a workplace inspector — requires documented third-party approval for lifting equipment on site. If that is your situation, ask us in writing before ordering and we will tell you exactly what documentation exists. Shipping and Delivery Shipping is quoted live at checkout for your own address in the lower 48; we do not print a figure here because carrier pricing moves. At 43 lbs this arrives as a single package rather than a crated freight shipment, so there is no forklift, appointment or unloading arrangement to make. Pickup from our Atlas warehouse locations is available if that is more convenient. Either way, inspect the carton before you sign the delivery paperwork and write any damage on the receipt while the driver is still there — damage noted at delivery is a claim, and damage discovered afterwards is an argument. Warranty No warranty term is published in this product's data, so we are not going to invent one. Current terms and the claims process live on our warranty claims page; if you want the term confirmed in writing before you buy, ask us and we will get it. If a hydraulic jack ever fails under load, stop using it and start a claim before anyone takes it apart — a disassembled jack is very hard to make a case for, however clear the original fault was.
