The Atlantic Water Gardens replacement net for the PS4600 and PS4900 Pro Series Pond Skimmer is the primary debris collection basket that intercepts leaves, seed pods, and large debris before they reach the pump. A torn or deformed skimmer net allows debris to bypass into the pump chamber, accelerating pump screen fouling and potentially causing impeller damage from large objects. Replace nets at the first sign of tears or shape loss. The First Line of Debris Defence The skimmer net works by creating a debris trap at the skimmer entrance that is easy to remove, empty, and reinstall. A properly functioning net can capture a full load of autumn leaves within hours during peak fall conditions — a task that would overwhelm the pump screen alone if the net were compromised. The PS4600/4900 net is sized and shaped for the specific weir door geometry of these skimmer models — using an improperly sized net leaves gaps around the edges that allow debris bypass. Empty the debris and inspect for any tears, holes, or collapsed sections. If damaged, discard and install the replacement net in the same position in the skimmer basket frame. Confirm the net sits fully in position without gaps at the sides or bottom. Replace the lid and monitor debris capture on the next visit. Ideal for routine Pro Series skimmer maintenance across Canadian pond seasons.
