Wide-Weir Waterfall Box with 3" Bulkhead The Atlantic Water Gardens Big Bahama FilterFall in the 38-inch format with a 3-inch bulkhead is the larger version of the Big Bahama biological waterfall filter — designed for the highest-flow pond installations where a wide, dramatic waterfall cascade is the design goal. The 38-inch weir width creates a broad, naturalistic spill and the 3-inch bulkhead accommodates the high pump outputs required to fill it effectively. Maximum Waterfall Width and Biological Capacity The 38-inch Big Bahama FilterFall provides a waterfall weir wide enough to be the centrepiece of a large professional pond installation — wide enough that a full Matala filter media complement inside the housing processes a substantial volume of water before it cascades over the weir. At 3-inch inlet sizing, this FilterFall pairs with large submersible pumps delivering 8,000 GPH (30,283 LPH) or more, creating the dramatic, high-volume cascade that defines a premier pond installation. The biological media inside transforms the waterfall from a decorative feature into a productive part of the pond's filtration system. Weir Width 97 cm (38") Inlet 3" bulkhead Flow Capacity Up to ~10,000 GPH (37,854 LPH) Media Type Matala filter media (sold separately) Recommended Pond Size Up to ~30,000 L+ (7,900 gal+) with fish load How to Install Set the Big Bahama FilterFall on a solid, perfectly level base at the waterfall header. Connect a 3-inch supply from the pump through the bulkhead inlet. Load the housing with coarse, medium, and fine Matala filter media in sequence. Dress the exterior with rocks and aquatic planting for a natural appearance. Start the pump and observe the full 38-inch weir cascade. Clean media every 4–6 weeks in the active season and inspect the bulkhead seal annually. Ideal for professional and premium residential large-scale koi pond waterfall installations across Canada.
