High-Volume Recirculation System The Atlantic Water Gardens basin and pump kit for 36-inch spillways provides a high-capacity basin and matched submersible pump for recirculating water through a 36-inch spillway installation. A 36-inch spillway requires significantly more basin volume and pump output than smaller formats — this pre-matched kit ensures both are correctly sized for reliable, continuous operation without pump cavitation or overflow risk. Large-Format Spillways Demand Properly Sized Systems A 36-inch spillway running at 1,500–3,000 GPH moves a substantial volume of water that must be caught and returned efficiently. Undersized basins run dry during peak evaporation in hot Canadian summers; undersized pumps produce a thin, uneven sheet across the 36-inch width. This matched kit specifies a basin large enough for the return volume and a pump tuned to the 36-inch optimal flow range — producing the full, even water sheet that makes a large spillway worth the investment. Compatible Spillway Width 91 cm (36") spillways Kit Contents Matched high-capacity basin and submersible pump Pump Output Matched for 36" spillway recommended flow range Voltage 120V, 60 Hz Safe For Recirculating closed-loop water features How to Install Excavate and level the basin position below the spillway drop point. Place the basin, set the pump, and run supply plumbing up to the 36-inch spillway inlet. Fill the basin before starting the pump. Start at low flow and increase gradually, observing the sheet profile across the full 36 inches. Adjust pump output valve to desired sheet depth. Monitor basin level for the first several hours to confirm adequate reserve volume under operating conditions. Ideal for large-format 36-inch spillway installations requiring a complete, high-volume recirculation system in Canada.
