Replacement Seal for Surface Skimmer The Atlantic Water Gardens AquaSkim 40 clamp gasket is the replacement sealing gasket for the clamp connection on the Oase AquaSkim 40 surface skimmer. The gasket forms the watertight seal between the AquaSkim housing and its connection to the pond liner or basin. A deteriorated or compressed gasket allows water to bypass the skimmer seal, reducing the skimmer's ability to maintain a consistent water level differential for effective surface skimming. Seals Surface Skimming Performance The AquaSkim 40 relies on a sealed connection through the pond liner to maintain the slight difference in water level that draws floating debris across the skimmer weir. If the gasket at the liner connection compresses or cracks, the pressure differential is lost, and the skimmer stops collecting debris efficiently. Gaskets in outdoor pond applications are subject to UV exposure, freeze-thaw cycling, and compression set from sustained clamping force — all of which degrade elastomeric gaskets over one to three Canadian pond seasons. Compatible Skimmer Oase AquaSkim 40 Surface Skimmer Component Clamp connection sealing gasket Material Elastomer (UV and ozone resistant) Replacement Trigger Leakage, visible cracking, or loss of compression Part Type Genuine Atlantic/Oase OEM How to Replace Reduce the water level below the AquaSkim 40 connection point or temporarily stop flow. Loosen the clamp and remove the housing from the liner connection. Clean the seating surface of any old gasket material, debris, or mineral deposits. Install the new gasket in the correct groove, ensure it is seated evenly without bunching, and reassemble the clamp. Confirm the connection is watertight by restoring water level and inspecting for leakage around the seal area. Ideal for maintaining AquaSkim 40 surface skimmer installations in Canadian pond liner installations.
