It is clean and free from non-natural particles when used correctly within modern care standards, making it suitable for bioactive systems. Designed for use from day one, this substrate allows custodians to establish quickly within the enclosure. It also supports drainage while maintaining enough structure for planted setups, making it suitable for prairie grasses, hardy plants and scrubland-style layouts. When hydrated appropriately, it can assist with burrow formation and may be used as part of naturalistic egg-laying setups.
