Gasket Kit for Aquascape Pump and Filter Union Fittings The Aquascape Pump/Filter Union Fitting Gasket Kit provides replacement gaskets for the union-style fittings used to connect pumps, filters, and UV clarifiers in Aquascape plumbing setups. Gaskets compress and take a permanent set over time, leading to slow leaks at union connections even when the union rings are fully tightened. Stop Slow Leaks at Union Connections Union fittings on pond equipment are designed for tool-free disconnection during maintenance. The gasket creates the watertight seal when the union ring is tightened. After one or two seasons of compression under operating pressure and temperature cycling, gaskets harden or distort and no longer form a complete seal even when tightened fully. Replacing them is a 2-minute fix that eliminates drip losses without disassembling any permanent plumbing. Spec Value Compatible With Aquascape pump and filter union-style fittings Kit Contents Replacement gaskets for union connections Material Elastomeric sealing material How to Use Shut down the pump and close any valves before opening union connections. Unthread the union ring, separate the two halves, and remove the old gasket from the groove. Clean the groove and mating face of any mineral deposits or old sealant. Press the new gasket into the groove, reassemble the union, and hand-tighten the ring. Restart the pump and check for leaks. Inspect and replace gaskets annually at spring startup as preventive maintenance. Ideal for any Aquascape pond plumbing setup using union fittings where existing gaskets have developed slow leaks or are showing visible distortion and need replacement before a full seal failure occurs.
