Extended-Formula Fountain Treatment, 1 gal The 1 gal (3.78 L) jug of Prevent for Fountains XT is the bulk buy for households or property managers running multiple fountains or one high-maintenance installation through a full season. The extended-release XT formula controls algae growth and mineral scale deposits so fountain surfaces stay clean without frequent manual scrubbing. What It Does Prevent XT inhibits single-celled algae before they cloud the water or coat surfaces, and prevents the hard water scale that forms on pump housings, basin walls, and spillway edges wherever water evaporates. The XT formula's extended-release chemistry stays active longer per dose than the standard SL, reducing the number of applications needed over a season without reducing effectiveness.
