Complete Large Water Garden Kit With Tsurumi 9-pl 7000 External Pump The Aquascape Large Pond Kit (21 ft x 26 ft / 6.4 m x 7.9 m liner) includes the full construction package for a large water garden up to approximately 8,000 gal (30,300 L), paired with the Tsurumi 9-pl 7000 external centrifugal pump running at approximately 7,000 GPH (26,500 LPH). The external Tsurumi mounts outside the pond on a dry pad, pulling water from the skimmer through a dedicated suction line and pushing it to the BioFalls filter and waterfall. Professional External Pump Performance for a Large Pond The Tsurumi 9-pl 7000 is the external pump of choice for professional pond builders who want accessible, reliable performance at the flow rates a large pond demands. Unlike submersible pumps that must be removed from the pond for service, the Tsurumi can be inspected and serviced while the pond remains undisturbed. At 7,000 GPH, it turns over the full pond volume roughly once per hour at standard koi pond depth, the benchmark for effective filtration in a heavily stocked system. Plan the external pump pad location close to the skimmer. Refer to the Tsurumi installation manual for suction line diameter, maximum suction lift, and priming procedures before connecting the pump. Prime the pump per the Tsurumi guide before first start; running an external centrifugal pump dry even briefly damages the mechanical seal. Allow six to eight weeks of biological establishment before stocking at full fish capacity. Ideal for professional pond contractors and experienced DIYers building large, high-stocking koi ponds who prefer an externally mounted, service-friendly pump over a submersible pump at this flow rate.
