Build a Complete Fountain Around a 24-Inch Slate Urn The Aquascape Extra Small Stacked Slate Urn 24-inch Fountain Kit includes the stacked slate urn (61 cm / 24 in), a submersible pump, basin, and installation hardware for a complete pondless fountain installation. Water is pumped up through the centre of the urn, spills gently over the top edge or through a spout, and returns to the concealed below-grade basin for recirculation, providing continuous water movement with no open water surface. Complete Pondless Fountain Kit With Vertical Impact The taller profile of the urn compared to a sphere creates a more prominent water feature with a traditional garden urn aesthetic. Water overflowing the lip of a slate-textured urn produces a pleasing trickling sound and a naturalistic overflow effect that suits cottage, formal, and Asian-inspired garden styles equally well. The pondless basin concealed beneath the decorative stone provides a safe, low-maintenance water reservoir that requires only periodic top-up to compensate for evaporation. Specification Value Urn Height 61 cm (24 in) Kit Contents Stacked slate resin urn, submersible pump, basin, hardware Water Feature Type Pondless overflowing urn fountain Installation Partially below grade, basin buried under decorative stone How to Use Excavate a hole for the basin at the chosen location. Install the basin and pump, routing the pump tube up through the urn drainage hole in the base and up through the interior to the lip. Set the urn over the basin on the grate and cover the surrounding area with decorative stone. Fill the basin with water, plug the pump into a GFCI-protected outdoor outlet, and adjust the flow rate to produce a gentle overflow effect at the urn's lip. Top up the basin with water regularly to maintain the pump's minimum submersion level as evaporation occurs. Ideal for formal garden displays, entryway focal points, patio corners, and water garden surrounds where a taller, traditional urn-form pondless fountain feature would complement the surrounding planting and hardscape.
