Matched Inlet Fittings for the Ext 12000 and Ext 18000 Pond Pumps The Aquascape Ext Pump 3-inch Plumbing Kit is a factory fitting set for connecting the inlet side of the Aquascape Ext 12000 or Ext 18000 external pond pump to 3-inch (7.6 cm) pond plumbing. It provides the correct transition fittings between the pump's 3-inch inlet port and the field plumbing run, ensuring a leak-free, properly supported connection in a buried or above-ground installation. Matched Fittings for a Professional Ext Pump Installation Improvised plumbing connections on a high-flow external pump create two risks: leaks at the pump inlet that introduce air into the suction line and cavitate the pump, and mechanical stress on the pump housing from unsupported or misaligned pipe runs. This factory kit provides fittings designed to the correct dimensions and thread specifications for the Ext pump inlet, eliminating the need to source and modify standard hardware store fittings. Specification Value Compatible With Aquascape Ext 12000 and Ext 18000 pond pumps Pipe Size 7.6 cm (3 in) Kit Contents Inlet plumbing fittings for 3-inch connections Material PVC thermoplastic How to Use Review the Ext pump installation manual to identify the correct inlet fitting sequence for your specific plumbing layout. Use PTFE thread tape on all male NPT connections. Support the plumbing run within 30 cm (12 in) of the pump inlet to prevent mechanical stress on the pump housing from the weight of the pipe. Ensure all joints are leak-free before starting the pump; any air ingestion at the suction side during operation will reduce pump output and can cause cavitation damage over time. Ideal for new Aquascape Ext 12000 and Ext 18000 installations requiring purpose-made 3-inch inlet fittings that connect cleanly to the pump's suction port without improvised adapters.
