Secure Your Dual Union Check Valve Connections in 2-Inch Plumbing The Aquascape Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 Threaded Collar (set of 2) is a pair of replacement or supplemental threaded locking collars for Aquascape Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 assemblies in 2-inch (5 cm) pond plumbing. The collars create the watertight yet removable joint between the union body and the check valve, allowing the valve to be removed for service without cutting the pipe. Keep Your Dual Union Connections Leak-Free and Serviceable Dual union collar threads are subject to cyclic loading each time the check valve is removed for inspection and reinstalled, which gradually reduces the thread engagement over time. When a collar no longer seals reliably or develops visible thread wear, replacing it with a new collar from this set restores the watertight connection without replacing the entire check valve assembly. The set of two provides both collars needed for a complete single check valve installation. Specification Value Pipe Size 5 cm (2 in) Quantity Set of 2 collars Compatible With Aquascape Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 Seal Type Rubber gasket (no thread sealant required) Material PVC thermoplastic How to Use Thread each collar onto the corresponding union body of the Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 by hand until the gasket contacts the seating face. Tighten each collar one half-turn further to compress the gasket and create a watertight seal. Do not use thread sealant tape on union collars as the gasket provides the seal. To service the check valve, unscrew both collars by hand and remove the valve body. Inspect the gaskets each time the valve is removed and replace if they show flattening or cracking. Ideal for maintaining Aquascape Dual Union Check Valve 2.0 installations in pond and waterfall systems where the locking collars have worn, cracked, or lost their sealing function after multiple service cycles.
