Add Natural-Looking Black Stone Accents to Water Features Aquascape Decorative River Pebbles in black (10 kg / 22 lb bag) are smooth, rounded natural-looking stones for lining pond edges, stream beds, waterfall bases, and water feature surrounds. The black colouration contrasts visually with green aquatic plants and the natural blue-grey of water, creating a clean, polished aesthetic in modern and naturalistic water garden designs. Versatile Stone Accents for Indoor and Outdoor Features Decorative pebbles serve both aesthetic and functional roles in water features: they stabilise the pond liner edge against erosion, provide a naturalistic substrate for marginal aquatic plants, add visual depth to shallow stream sections, and give the eye a textural contrast between the water surface and the surrounding hardscape. The smooth, rounded form prevents the sharp edges found in crushed aggregate that can wear against EPDM liners over time. Specification Value Weight 10 kg (22 lb) Colour Black Form Smooth rounded river pebbles Use Locations Pond edge, stream bed, waterfall base, water feature surround How to Use Rinse the pebbles in clean water before placing them in or near the pond to remove dust and fine particles that could temporarily cloud the water. Lay pebbles directly on the pond liner at the water's edge to a depth of 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 in) to anchor the liner and create a natural shoreline effect. In stream beds, spread the pebbles evenly across the liner surface, covering it completely to prevent UV degradation of exposed liner sections. For container water features, layer pebbles over the pump and base to conceal hardware. Ideal for finishing the edges of water garden ponds, covering stream liners, accenting the base of pondless waterfall systems, and adding decorative stone detail to patio container water features.
