Protect Your AquaSurge 4000 or 5000 Pump From Debris The Aquascape AquaSurge 4000/5000 (G2) Intake Screen Kit is a factory replacement intake screen for second-generation AquaSurge 4000 and 5000 submersible pond pumps. These higher-output pumps move substantial water volumes and their intake screens bear a proportionally greater debris load; a damaged or saturated screen can noticeably reduce flow in large pond and waterfall systems. Protect High-Volume Pump Performance At 4,000 to 5,000 GPH (15,141 to 18,927 LPH) of rated output, the AquaSurge 4000 and 5000 drive large pond ecosystems and high-head waterfalls. A compromised intake screen at these flow rates imposes meaningful back-pressure on the pump, increasing energy draw and reducing output. Keeping a replacement kit on hand ensures that a screen failure never causes extended system downtime during peak season. Specification Value Compatible Pumps Aquascape AquaSurge 4000 (G2), AquaSurge 5000 (G2) Component Intake screen assembly Fit Type OEM direct replacement Material UV-stable thermoplastic mesh How to Use Remove the pump from the pond and unplug it. Release the intake screen retaining collar or clips and remove the old screen assembly. Inspect the intake port for scale or biofilm accumulation and clean if needed. Fit the replacement screen assembly, engaging all retaining points until the collar is secure. Return the pump to the pond and confirm full flow is restored within the first minute of operation. In high-debris environments, inspect the screen every two weeks during the main operating season. Ideal for AquaSurge 4000 and 5000 G2 pumps in large koi ponds, professional waterfall and stream systems, and high-volume pondless installations requiring continuous high-flow circulation.
