The Aqua One Aquastyle 980 Carbon 5C cartridge is expertly crafted to enhance aquarium water quality. This efficient filtration solution combines a top layer of polymer wool and a carbon tray, effectively trapping fish waste and purifying your tank for up to six weeks. By maintaining a specific thickness, the polymer wool ensures optimal solid waste collection while facilitating a consistent water flow. The carbon tray neatly contains carbon granules, optimising their purifying effect and distributing water evenly across the cartridge. The design of the 5C cartridge allows it to efficiently prevent harmful solids and excess chemical waste from reaching further aquarium components, fostering a conducive environment for beneficial bacteria to thrive within the foam and Bio-Noodle layers. Easy to monitor, simply lift the filter lid weekly to check the flow. Replace the cartridge if water pools on the surface; do not wash it as it is meant for single use. While it is recommended to replace the carbon and wool cartridge every six weeks, longer-lasting elements like the foam and Bio-Noodle layers should be refreshed regularly to maintain aquarium health. Bio-Noodles can be partially replaced monthly, while foam layers should be changed annually, with occasional rinsing in aquarium water to remove build-up without disrupting bacterial colonies.
