The Airmax ProAir Membrane Retainer Ring is the critical locking component required to secure your 6-inch aeration sleeves. Designed for a high-pressure mechanical seal, this ring ensures that your air supply is forced through the membrane’s micro-perforations rather than escaping through the ends. Engineered for an Airtight Seal When replacing an Airmax PTFE Non-Stick Sleeve, the retainer rings should be inspected for stress fractures or mineral "locking." These rings provide the uniform compression needed to keep the sleeve seated against the diffuser body. Replacing worn rings alongside your new sleeve prevents air bypass and maintains the system pressure necessary for deep-water aeration. Performance Highlights System Integrity: Prevents "sleeve slip" and air leaks that can reduce oxygenation efficiency. Durable Construction: Made from high-impact, UV-stabilized polymers that withstand constant submersion. Hand-Tightened Design: Features a textured grip for easy DIY installation without the need for specialized tools. This ensures even tension across the entire length of the PTFE membrane. This maintenance process is entirely vegan-friendly, utilizing mechanical seals rather than petroleum-based lubricants or adhesives to protect your water quality.
