Club: AC Milan Year: 2004/05 Brand: Adidas Jersey Type: Goalkeeper Away Size: L Player Name: Dida 1 Chest length (cm): 56Shirt length (cm): 77 Condition: 8/10History: AC Milan’s 2004/05 season was dramatic and bittersweet. Managed by Carlo Ancelotti, the team boasted stars like Kaká, Andrea Pirlo, Paolo Maldini, and Andriy Shevchenko. They finished second in Serie A, narrowly missing the title to Juventus. Milan’s Champions League campaign was unforgettable—they reached the final after beating fierce rivals Inter and PSV Eindhoven. In the final against Liverpool, Milan led 3-0 at halftime but suffered a stunning comeback and lost on penalties after a 3-3 draw. The collapse remains one of football’s most iconic moments. Despite their quality, the season ended in heartbreak, overshadowing an otherwise excellent campaign. Dida became Brazil’s first Black starting goalkeeper at a World Cup since Moacyr Barbosa in 1950, breaking a 56-year gap shaped by racial prejudice. Barbosa was unfairly blamed for Brazil’s 1950 World Cup loss, leading to decades of reluctance to trust Black goalkeepers. Dida’s rise to the national team in the early 2000s, and his starting role in the 2006 World Cup, marked a significant cultural shift. Calm, consistent, and successful, he won the 2002 World Cup (as backup) and shone for AC Milan. Dida’s career helped challenge stigma and paved the way for future generations of diverse Brazilian goalkeepers. Note: These jerseys are authentic.
