Common Questions What is the primary use of this cable? This 5m single-core solar extension cable is designed to extend the reach of your solar panels, connecting them to your charge controller, inverter, or other system components with pre-fitted MC4 connectors. Can this cable be used for both 12V and higher voltage systems? Yes, the 2.5mm² cross-section is suitable for 12V off-grid systems up to 100W and can also be used for higher voltage on-grid panels (typically 30-60V), provided the current remains within the cable's safe operating limits. Is this cable suitable for outdoor use? Absolutely. Crafted with 120°C XLPE insulation and jacket, this cable is highly resistant to UV, ozone, and extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to +120°C, making it ideal for all weather conditions. Can I cut this cable to a shorter length? Yes, for specific installation needs, this 5m cable can be cut in half to create two 2.5m tails. Ensure proper termination and safety procedures if modifying the cable. Installation Notes Ensure all connections are secure and fully seated to maintain waterproof integrity. Route cables away from sharp edges or potential pinch points to prevent damage. Use appropriate cable management solutions to protect against physical stress and environmental exposure. Always consult a qualified electrician for complex installations or if unsure about wiring practices. Before You Buy Verify the required cable length for your specific solar panel layout. Confirm the voltage and current requirements of your solar system to ensure compatibility with 2.5mm² cable. Check that your existing solar panels or components use standard MC4 connectors. Consider any local electrical regulations or standards that may apply to your installation. Please verify all specifications and compatibility requirements with your existing solar system components before purchase. Product specifications are subject to change by the manufacturer.
