Off-Grid Power Systems Crucial for building robust battery arrays in remote or standalone power installations. Robust Construction & Safety Notes This Photonic Universe battery cable is constructed with a heavy-duty 35mm² copper conductor, ensuring excellent conductivity and minimal power loss. The durable PVC insulation provides resistance to abrasion, oils, petrol, diesel, and diluted acids, contributing to a long service life and safe operation. The red colour coding is a standard safety feature, clearly indicating its use for positive battery connections to prevent wiring errors and potential damage to your system. Common Questions What is the primary use of this red battery cable? This 30cm red battery cable is designed to connect the positive terminals of two or more batteries within the same battery bank, facilitating parallel or series connections for increased capacity or voltage. Can I use this cable for negative battery connections? No, this red cable is specifically colour-coded for positive (+) connections. For negative (–) battery terminals, it is standard practice to use a black battery cable of the same specifications to ensure correct polarity and system safety. What do 35mm² and 8mm refer to in the cable specifications? 35mm² refers to the cable's cross-sectional area, which indicates its current-carrying capacity. A larger cross-section allows for higher current flow with less resistance. 8mm is the internal diameter of the metal ring terminals (eyelets), designed to fit standard battery terminal posts. Is this cable suitable for high-current applications? Yes, with a 35mm² cross-section, this cable is considered heavy-duty and suitable for high-current applications commonly found in larger battery banks for solar, automotive, and marine systems. Typical 35mm² cables are rated for approximately 240 Amps, depending on length and operating conditions. Installation Notes Ensure correct polarity: Always connect red cables to positive (+) terminals. Tighten eyelets securely: Loose connections can lead to resistance, heat build-up, and potential arcing. Use appropriate tools: For safe and effective connection to battery posts. Maintain clear cable routing: Avoid sharp bends or chafing that could damage insulation. Consult a qualified electrician: If you are unsure about wiring complex battery banks. Before You Buy Verify terminal size: Confirm that your battery posts require 8mm eyelets for a secure fit. Confirm cable length: The 30cm length is suitable for batteries placed in close proximity. Check cable cross-section: Ensure 35mm² meets the current load requirements of your system. Consider black cables: Remember to purchase a corresponding black cable for negative terminal connections. Review your system diagram: Plan your battery bank layout and cable requirements carefully. Always verify product specifications and compatibility with your existing system components before purchase. Professional installation is recommended for all electrical work.
