What is a 29Gx38mm Screw Thread? A 29Gx38mm screw thread is a type of absorbable polydioxanone suture used in thread lifts, a non-surgical aesthetic procedure for skin lifting and tightening. PDO screw threads are made from one or two intertwined threads. These are used to help restore volume to sunken parts of the skin. These 29-gauge threads are 38mm long and typically used for rejuvenation, skin tightening and moderate lifts. How thread lifts work A PDO thread lift is a procedure that uses dissolvable sutures to rejuvenate and lift sagging skin. Threads are medical sutures that have been used in surgery for many years. They are inserted into the SMAS layers to help shape facial contours and make the skin tighter. They proliferate collagen by stimulating fibroblast. This improves skin elasticity, reduces fine wrinkles and brightens the complexion. As the threads are absorbed by the body, they continue to promote collagen regeneration, offering a natural lifting effect. While the results aren’t as dramatic as facelift surgery, the procedure is quick, with minimal recovery time, making it a popular option for non-invasive facial rejuvenation.
