J1625, J1171, UL1500 Operating & Power Guidance This 150A DC circuit breaker functions as a crucial safety device by automatically interrupting the circuit when an overcurrent condition is detected. This protects connected equipment and wiring from damage due to excessive current flow. Its thermal overcurrent protection mechanism ensures reliable operation across its specified temperature range. Beyond automatic protection, the integrated manual-break option allows the breaker to serve as an isolator switch, enabling safe and simple disconnection or reconnection of the system for maintenance or storage. The resettable design means that once the fault is cleared, the breaker can be easily reset, eliminating the need for fuse replacement and reducing downtime. Typical Applications Application Description Solar/Wind Charge Controllers Protecting the connection between charge controllers and battery banks. Off-Grid Inverter Systems Installed between the DC input of off-grid inverters and batteries. DC Power Distribution Safeguarding various DC power distribution or charging circuits. Automotive & Marine Overcurrent protection in vehicles, caravans, motorhomes, and marine applications. Built-In Protection Functions This circuit breaker is constructed from durable thermal plastic with a UL94V-0 rating, indicating high flame retardance and resistance to high temperatures. It is also IP67 rated, providing comprehensive protection against dust ingress and temporary immersion in water. Furthermore, the unit meets international standards S.A.E. J1625, J1171, and UL1500, certifying it as ignition-protected and suitable for use in marine engine compartments and fuel tank spaces where flammable vapours may be present. Common Questions What is the main advantage of this circuit breaker over a traditional fuse? The primary advantage is its resettable nature. After an overcurrent event, you can simply reset the breaker manually, eliminating the need to replace a blown fuse. Can this breaker be used as a simple on/off switch? Yes, it features a manual-break option that allows it to function as an isolator on/off switch for convenient disconnection and reconnection of your DC system. What does the IP67 rating signify? An IP67 rating means the circuit breaker is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. Is this circuit breaker suitable for marine environments? Yes, its IP67 water resistance and compliance with S.A.E. J1171 and UL1500 standards confirm it is ignition-protected and suitable for demanding marine applications. Installation Notes Ensure the circuit breaker is mounted in a location that allows for proper ventilation and access for resetting. Always observe correct polarity when connecting to DC circuits to prevent damage to the system. Verify all terminal connections are secure and tight to prevent resistance and potential heat build-up. For complex electrical installations, it is recommended to consult a qualified electrician or solar installer. Before You Buy Confirm the 150A rating is appropriate for your system's maximum continuous current draw. Verify compatibility with your specific 12V, 24V, or 48V DC electrical system voltage. Check the physical dimensions (74 x 48 x 37 mm) to ensure it fits your intended panel or recess mount. Ensure the M6 terminal size is suitable for your existing cabling and connectors. Always verify product specifications and compatibility with your specific system requirements before purchase. All information provided is based on verified manufacturer data.
