Marsilea Crenata Tissue Culture – Carpet Plant for Aquascaping Marsilea Crenata is a compact carpeting plant that offers an attractive green cover for the foreground of freshwater aquariums. Known for being less demanding than alternatives like Glossostigma or Hemianthus, it tolerates lower light levels and minimal CO₂, making it suitable for a wide range of setups. Under higher light and improved conditions, its growth and density improve significantly. Each leaf remains small, usually under 0.5cm wide, creating a fine, textured carpet effect. Supplied as a 60mm tissue culture pot, this plant arrives free from snails, algae, and pesticides. It’s suitable for long-term storage when kept cool and out of direct sunlight. Once ready to plant, simply rinse off the gel, divide into portions, and insert directly into the substrate. Key Features: Low-maintenance carpeting plant – suitable for beginners and low-tech tanks Compact leaf size – fine texture, ideal for natural-looking scapes Spreads via runners and side shoots – plants should be spaced 2–3cm apart Improved growth with CO₂ and lighting – thrives under enhanced conditions Tissue culture format – free from pests and contamination, with strong root development Flexible planting schedule – can be stored for weeks if kept cool and sealed Marsilea Crenata is an excellent option for aquascapers seeking a manageable yet visually pleasing carpet plant. Whether in a basic setup or a high-tech tank, it offers flexibility and aesthetic appeal.
